HELP US RESTORE THE LIBERTY THEATRE
Restoring Liberty Theatre to provide arts and education centre for Yass Valley.
The restoration and upgrade of the iconic 1939 Art Deco Liberty Theatre in Yass will enable the community of Yass Valley to again enjoy cinema, theatre, musical, and arts productions. It will also bring education opportunities, providing sound, film, video and production experience for the youth of the region, who may be looking at possible employment in those fields.
Listed by the National Trust as a heritage building of national significance, the theatre will receive a major upgrade and revitalitalisation of its current facilities whilst maintaining the wonderful and much-loved heritage aspects of the building.
The restoration of the building will enable the community of Yass and surrounds to again use this unique building for local and touring theatre, cultural, exhibitions, workshops, and educational activities.
We aim to protect these areas from inappropriate development, but we cannot achieve this alone. Find out how you can help.

CINEMA
Movies from Hollywood’s golden age to new releases. Thanks to support from the NSW Government film screenings will soon return to Yass.
Theatre and Dance
The extension to the rear of the building will create additional theatre facilities, dressing rooms and storage backstage.
WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
The introduction of theatre, cinema, music and cultural workshops will create opportunities that may roll into new careers.
ART
The exhibition space will deliver a new location for displaying local art.
MUSIC AND WURLITZER ORGAN
State of the art lighting, and a new audio system will provide allow live music to be performed. The Wurlitzer Organ will provide additional opportunities to entertain and educate.
WORKSHOPS
A flexible space will be established in the building to run workshops in the fields of arts and culture, book and music launches and wine and food tastings.
